The Greybull and Wood Rivers get their start in the Absarokas, flowing northeast to join with the Big Horn at Greybull.  Be sure to pick up a current Wyoming fishing regulations book, or check locally for regs.

  • Fish: B, R, C, MW, Br  for Browns, Rainbows, Cutthroats. Mountain Whitefish, Brookies

Greybull - NE of Meeteetse  (1)

  • Go northeast from Meeteetse on Hwy 30 for 7 miles. Several access points.
  • Fish: C, B
  • Facilities:   

Greybull - in Shoshone NF (2)

  • Go southwest from Meeteetse on Hwy 290; follow until road turns to dirt, which is FR 208; follow to Jack Creek Trailhead. Access to river is by hiking or horseback into Washakie Wilderness
  • Fish: B, C, MW
  • Facilities: Camp, T 
  • Fishing info from Shoshone NF 

Wood River - in Shoshone NF (3)

  • Go southwest from Meeteetse on Hwy 290; follow for about 10 miles; turn south on FR 200. Access by road - watch for private property
  • Fish: Br, C, MW
  • Facilities: Camp, T 
  • Fishing info from Shoshone NF
